Williams have unveiled the Union Jack logo they will use as part of their home celebrations ahead of this weekend’s British Formula 1 Grand Prix. Engraved with the names of all 1,005 team members, the Union Jack will be integrated into the engine cover of the FW46 car driven by Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant – with Franco Colapinto on FP1 duty for Sargeant.
Team members’ names were woven into the red, white and blue colors of the engine cover, while other members had other events to prepare for the race. Including 2009 world champion and team advisor Jenson Button at the wheel of his FW22 during his 2000 rookie season at Silverstone for a series of demonstration runs.
“Silverstone is always one of the highlights of the year and I’m delighted that we thank our staff as being at the heart of our home race celebrations,” said team principal James Vowles. “Williams is transforming from top to bottom so we can regain our position, and our people and culture will be key to that success. “It takes a phenomenal effort from every individual at the factory and on the track to be able to race in Formula 1, and I’m particularly proud of the resilience under pressure we showed during the year.” now.”
