‘We Want To Fight’ Lando Norris Explains Plan Moving Forward After Max Verstappen Incident, As Dust Settles

A few days after the Austrian GP clash between Max Verstappen & Lando Norris and the British GP took place. However, discussions seemed to only revolve around the incident from the previous race and not the upcoming race. However, when emotions subsided, Norris shared his views on this incident.

“I reviewed everything and got over everything. I really don’t want to change what I did, I fought. That’s what we want. We want to fight, we don’t want to complain. We don’t want things to end like that, on Max’s part or on my part,” Norris said on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X.

Everyone criticized Verstappen for the incident and blamed him for moving and pushing Norris away. But to be fair, it looks like it’s going to be a tough race. Immediately after the race, Norris complained about the championship leader’s move. However, he seems to have realized what it takes to beat the Dutchman.

Surely, Verstappen will not serve Norris in the lead race on a tray. The British rider will have to fight for it and wait patiently for the right opportunity. Norris needs to think like Hamilton from the 2021 season, as he is closest to Verstappen in the championship. Both being eliminated only benefits the three-time champion as there will be one less race to make up those points.

The comment about not wanting to repeat his win in Austria was a sly taunt to Verstappen. Driver number 4 showed strong spirit to fight for the championship. However, whose fault is the Austrian GP really?

It’s been almost five days since Verstappen and Norris met, but the analysis and discussions don’t seem to have stopped. F1TV released Jolyon Palmer’s analysis of the accident a few days ago. Analysis suggests it was Verstappen’s fault as he moved through the braking zone and didn’t leave enough room on the outside.

PlanetF1 analyzed how the fight started much earlier in the race when they analyzed the Lap 23 pitlane incident between the two. This shows how tight the racing was throughout the Grand Prix weekend. On the other hand, Jeremy Clarkson believes it was a racing incident with no one to blame.

A range of opinions were mixed, but most were in favor of Norris. However, upon viewing the replay, it appears that this was a racing incident. Verstappen left space on the outside and Norris may have gone slightly off the curb to avoid collision. The Dutchman did the same when he crashed into the grass at the Spanish GP starting line when Norris pushed him away.

Hopefully both drivers can overcome this incident and have a good fight for victory at Silverstone.
