UFC Superstar Conor McGregor Breaks Into the Music Industry with the Launch of ‘Greenback Records’.
Conor McGregor, the renowned UFC star known for his thrilling fights and charismatic persona, has officially stepped into the music industry with the launch of his own record label, ‘Greenback Records’. This bold move marks a significant expansion of McGregor’s career beyond the Octagon.
Despite being forced to withdraw from his comeback fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 due to injury, McGregor has remained busy with his business ventures outside the Octagon. Just yesterday, he hosted a press conference ahead of the launch of a bare-knuckle promotion in Spain as a co-owner of BKFC. Now, McGregor is promoting his latest business venture in the music industry.
On Friday, McGregor announced the launch of his own record label, ‘Greenback Records’, via an Instagram post. “I am thrilled to create Ireland’s first major record label in an industry I have been passionate about for some time,” McGregor shared. “Greenback Records is here! We are assembling a team of artists who will benefit from the best contracts in the music industry. Period! I take business seriously, and this venture is no exception! Welcome to Greenback Records!”
Greenback Records is still in its early stages and is described as the “inspired creation” of McGregor, Richard Buck, and manager Julian O’Brien. The label aims to empower artists with clear vision and creativity.
One notable collaborator with Greenback Records is veteran music producer Damion “Damizza” Young. Young, who had previously declared that he wouldn’t join another record label “until things were done right,” shared on Instagram: “All I can say is that ‘The Notorious’ thug era is about to begin.” He also praised Greenback Records’ agreements for not exploiting artists and for having reasonable joint venture deals.
McGregor is not only a prominent figure in martial arts but also a successful entrepreneur with various business ventures, such as ‘Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey’. In 2021, he sold the majority of his shares in the whiskey brand for nearly $600 million. With his new music project at Greenback Records, fans and media alike are eagerly anticipating what innovative and groundbreaking contributions McGregor will bring to the music industry.
