Former UFC world champion Conor McGregor surprised fans by sharing a shocking photo to mark his 36th birthday on Sunday. The former Octagon featherweight and lightweight champion posted a photo wearing swimming trunks, showing off his muscles on the deck of a yacht in Ibiza, with the caption “36 years old, scratches”. However, what attracts fans’ attention is not only the Irish boxer’s muscular biceps but also McGregor’s masculinity, clearly shown in this photo.
Fans left a lot of comments, including congratulations and humorous comments about McGregor’s image. One person commented: “Just a fan’s birthday,” while another added: “Happy birthday bro.” Another fan said: “Dude you’re stuffing yourself with a pig,” and a fourth wrote: “Dude can you put that away, it’s full of kids in here.”
Other comments include: “Stop stuffing your socks into your underwear,” “Are you wearing a bra?,” “This isn’t just a Conor fan,” “Happy birthday BIG,” “Dude, it’s in there’s the middle of my screen, put it away,” “It’s staring at me” and “put on your pants.”
McGregor’s long-awaited return to the UFC was postponed last month when his fight with Michael Chandler was canceled due to injury. This prompted former MMA fighter Chael Sonnen to imply that ‘The Notorious’ had actually withdrawn from the fight because he had entered rehab for alcohol and drug addiction.
McGregor’s team has firmly denied this allegation, telling DailyMail.com: “Mr. McGregor is with his family. The match was canceled after he was injured during training. He is Looking forward to a new day of competition.”
Although Sonnen did not name McGregor directly, there was no doubt who he was referring to as he repeatedly mentioned McGregor’s ‘Proper Twelve’ whiskey brand. During a conversation about the postponed fight with Daniel Cormier, Sonnen spoke about both Chandler and McGregor promoting alcohol during their careers.
“It’s ironic that both sides have a huge interest in alcohol, and one side is in the process of recovering from drug addiction, including alcohol,” he said, before sarcastically stroking his chin and adding: “That has nothing to do with this,” during an appearance on ESPN.
McGregor released a statement on the fight’s cancellation, saying: “It was difficult to be left out of my scheduled return fight. The decision to postpone the fight was not made lightly, but rather The decision was made after consulting with doctors, the UFC and my team. My fans and opponents deserve me to show my best in this fight and we will can do!”
He also paused his birthday celebrations to praise former US President Donald Trump after his attempted assassination at a rally in Pennsylvania on Sunday. McGregor wrote: “A 78-year-old billionaire like him should be on a cruise to golf courses in the Mediterranean. But he’s not. He’s in Pennsylvania and shooting! Running for the love of his country! Pray for him.” Lucky Donald! God bless America.”
This event certainly made Conor McGregor the center of attention, not only in the sports world but also globally.
