Although the NFL occasionally adjusts schedules to account for events in shared stadiums—such as when Swift’s Eras Tour occupied venues like those of the Saints, Dolphins, and Colts—these changes are based on logistical necessities rather than individual performers.

The NFL’s scheduling process involves significant technological resources, including its partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Each season’s schedule is generated from over one quadrillion potential combinations, balancing factors like stadium events, municipal logistics, and traffic flow. The goal, according to North, is to create a fair and efficient schedule for all teams while minimizing disruptions.  

“Ensuring a schedule that works well for everyone—or at least distributes inconveniences evenly—is always our priority,” North said.

While the league denies any link between Swift’s Eras Tour and the Chiefs-Bills matchup, her influence on NFL viewership is undeniable. Her previous appearances at Chiefs games have generated widespread media coverage, heightened fan engagement, and even boosted TV ratings.
