Marc Marquez’s win at the Aragon Grand Prix ended a run of 1,043 days without a six-time MotoGP title.
Spanish rider Marc Marquez produced a magical performance in front of his home fans at the Aragon MotoGP to end a three-year winless streak.
The six-time MotoGP champion, who won his last Grand Prix in 2021 at the Emilia Romagna circuit, completed a dream weekend after winning Saturday’s sprint race by the same margin on his Ducati Gresini satellite bike.
He won on Sunday by nearly five seconds over Jorge Martin, with Pedro Acosta third.
Marquez then performed a victory lap by jumping off his bike, kissing the ground and performing an impromptu dance in front of his delighted supporters.
Martin leads the drivers’ standings by 23 points after two-time world champion Francesco Bagnaia crashed five laps from the finish.
