Rihanna will appear in Steven Meisel’s advertising campaign for the brand this September.
Rihanna is the new face of Dior’s classic fragrance J’Adore. In an effort by the French fashion house to revive its signature scents, the Barbadian powerhouse will feature in her debut campaign, shot by Steven Klein, for this fragrance on September 1, as reported by Business of Fashion.
The singer and Fenty designer, hailed as Dior’s first Black ambassador in 2015, has maintained a longstanding relationship with the brand, engaging in various independent business ventures over the past nine years. Now, she has signed a new contract with the house ahead of the upcoming J’Adore launch, slated to be the brand’s largest unveiling since 2018.
Speaking at the store, Rihanna said, “Becoming the new face of J’Adore is both an honor and a mission. I am particularly eager to embark on this adventure and contribute to it through my world, story, roots, as well as my creativity and femininity.”
CEO Véronique Courtois noted, “Her extraordinary talent, boldness, and captivating beauty make her the perfect embodiment of Dior’s radiant, powerful femininity across generations.” She added that “Christian Dior will surely adore her.”
