In a fiery prelude to his upcoming sit-down with Gillie Da King and Wallo on “Million Dollaz Worth of Game,” 50 Cent threw serious shade at Rick Ross. The teaser, released on August 31, captures 50 Cent’s pointed criticisms aimed squarely at his long-time rival.
“Nothing else works for him outside of mentioning me. When things get bad, he’ll mention me,” 50 Cent declared, taking a jab at Ross for frequently invoking his name to stay relevant. The rapper didn’t stop there; he also mocked Ross’s financial management, referencing a viral video of Ross mowing his 235-acre estate in Fayetteville, Georgia. “What kind of rich nga cuts his own grass? Why are you out there cutting your own grass? You’re trying to save money, nga?” he quipped.
Ross quickly hit back on Instagram Stories, accusing 50 Cent of disloyalty to his mentor, Dr. Dre. “You jumped out during the West Coast vs. the Canadian [feud], and I thought Dr. Dre put you on. I thought Dr. Dre was the set. I thought you [were] loyal to Dr. Dre. You mean [to tell me] you went with the Canadian over Dr. Dre? Who [were you saying] changed your life?” Ross shot back, questioning 50 Cent’s allegiance.
Ross also pointedly remarked, “You did shut the f**k up once the Canadian took the L. You got totally quiet.” This comment alludes to Kendrick Lamar’s track “Not Like Us,” which many believe solidified Kendrick’s unofficial victory over Drake in their recent feud.
Despite this, 50 Cent has maintained that Drake didn’t actually lose, arguing in July, “Drake’s just experiencing what you experience as a backlash from success, from the consistency he’s delivered over and over. I don’t see a loss for Drake. The people who bought Drake material are going to buy Drake material when his next song comes out.
