Known as “Everest man”, Mr. Kami Rita was born in 1970 in Thame, a Himalayan village famous for producing outstanding climbers. Nepali mountain guides, often ethnic Sherpas, are considered a key contributor to the country’s mountaineering sector. Sherpa are an ethnic minority living in the southern region of Nepal. They originated from Tibet hundreds of years ago, mainly living around the Everest region. Nepalese authorities said they issued 414 permits to climb Mount Everest during this year’s spring climbing season, which lasts from April to June. Most people hoping to conquer Everest are accompanied by Nepali guides. .
Nepal, a country that owns eight of the world’s 10 highest peaks, has long been a favorite destination for adventurous mountain climbers. Spring is the ideal season for peak conquering activities because of the warm weather and calm winds. However, the increase in the number of climbers in recent years has led to concerns about negative impacts on the environment and safety for explorers. Most recently, the Supreme Court of Nepal ordered to limit the number of permits to climb Mount Everest and other peaks.
