Rihanna didn’t let missing out on all seven of her Grammy Award nominations get her down on Sunday night. Instead, she headed to 1Oak nightclub in LA for an after-party organized by club owner Richie Akiva, themed around her album ANTI.
The 28-year-old superstar, who had started her pregame drinking during the ceremony, looked flawless as she celebrated with DJ Mustard, The Weeknd, and his rumored girlfriend, Selena Gomez.
Rihanna made a fierce entrance at the after-party in a frilly lilac sheer dress from Marc Jacobs’ Spring 2017 runway. The dress, which resembled a Victorian nightdress with lace hems, puffed-out sleeves, and velvet bows, showcased her taut tummy and shapely legs. Her brunette hair was styled in big, bouncy curls, and she wore contoured and bronzed makeup, accentuating her naturally pretty features. A slick of deep purple lipstick completed her glamorous look.
Joining her at the party were The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, and Selena Gomez, who arrived in their own vehicle. The Weeknd had reportedly asked Selena back in January to be his official plus one for Clive Davis’ annual after-party. Despite trying to keep a low profile, Selena’s striking cobalt-blue eyeliner and eyeshadow were noticeable, hinting at a more dressed-up look under her casual denim jacket.
The Weeknd, who had already won two Grammys and performed at the awards, despite not receiving a nomination this year, seemed to enjoy the evening with Selena. Their romantic date weekend indicated that their relationship was still going strong, following their recent trip to Florence and Venice, Italy. Selena had made their relationship Instagram official with a video of The Weeknd in a Venice canal, which she later deleted.
Rihanna appeared to be in high spirits at the after-party, despite her losses at the awards. She had sent fans into a frenzy on Twitter when she was seen talking and applying lip gloss as Beyoncé accepted the Best Urban Contemporary Album award, for which Rihanna was also nominated. However, she later blew kisses to Beyoncé, showing that there were no hard feelings between them.
Other notable attendees at the party included French Montana, who arrived with a group of friends, and reality star Scott Disick, who made his entrance in a swanky vehicle, looking clean-cut in a crisp white shirt and black suit. The night was a celebration of music and friendship, with Rihanna leading the festivities despite the Grammy disappointments.
