In a controversial bout against Dubois, Usyk faced adversity when Dubois appeared to drop him with a fifth-round punch, initially ruled as low by referee Luis Pabon following protests from Usyk and his corner. This decision allowed Usyk time to recover, and he later secured victory via a ninth-round knockout, maintaining his WBA, IBF, and WBO heavyweight belts.
