Nate Diaz Had Everyone Laughing With His Two-word Reply To Winning Conor Mcgregor £1.2 Million
Nate Diaz had the room in stitches with his two-word reaction to Conor McGregor winning £1.2 million by betting on him. The pair share one of the most iconic rivalries in UFC history, with their record tied at one win each after their thrilling two-fight series.
Despite the fierce competition, McGregor backed Diaz to win against Jorge Masvidal in their boxing rematch, placing a hefty £390,000 bet. When Diaz emerged victorious, McGregor pocketed £1.2 million. At the press conference, when informed of McGregor’s windfall, Diaz simply shrugged and said, “That’s cool.” The room erupted in laughter, and McGregor later quipped, “I make ya so much money you can swim in it!”
Diaz, 39, famously handed McGregor, 35, his first UFC defeat with a submission win in March 2016, only to lose the rematch five years later. A much-anticipated trilogy bout has yet to materialize.
In the meantime, Diaz ventured into boxing, suffering a debut loss to YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in August 2023. However, he rebounded by defeating Masvidal, 39, who had bested him in their initial 2019 bout.
After his victory, Diaz called out Paul, 27, for a rematch, and also challenged UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards, 32, who defeated him in 2021. Diaz declared, “I’m gonna beat Jake Paul’s f***ing ass. I’m down to fight the highest-ranked boxer I can find. My main objective has always been to be the best fighter in the world, so I want to go back and get the UFC title. Leon Edwards, Jake Paul, and anybody else, you’re dead.”
Nate Diaz continues to captivate fans with his no-nonsense attitude, relentless fighting spirit, and unfiltered bravado, ensuring his legacy as one of the sport’s most compelling figures.
