The highly anticipated fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul has been postponed due to Tyson’s health issues. Tyson, who is now 57 years old, has encountered serious health problems close to the date of the bout.
Approximately three months after agreeing to fight Jake Paul, Tyson has experienced health complications. The fight, initially scheduled for July 20, had already attracted significant media and public interest, as Tyson’s return to the ring after many years of retirement was a major event.
Although the bout was set to be a real competition with the results affecting both fighters’ professional records, it has been delayed due to Tyson’s health issues during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles. Tyson experienced dizziness, difficulty breathing, and nausea, requiring immediate medical attention.
Details about the rescheduled date will be provided in June, once Tyson’s health has improved.
In a statement to his fans, Tyson said: “I appreciate all the support and understanding from my fans at this time. Due to a gastrointestinal ulcer, my doctors have advised me to train at a lower intensity for a few weeks and to rest actively to recover. Overall, I’m in better shape than I was in the 1990s, and I will be back to training hard soon. I value everyone’s patience and look forward to delivering an unforgettable performance this year.”
