Lennox Lewis Shares Candid Opinion on Daniel Dubois Facing Fury-Usyk Victor: “He’s the True King”

Daniel Dubois is eagerly eyeing a matchup with the winner of the highly anticipated Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk rematch. Over the past year, Dubois has solidified his place at the top of the heavyweight division, achieving a series of impressive victories that have transformed his career.

After experiencing various ups and downs early on, the 27-year-old has found his stride, starting with a pivotal fight against the 300-pound Jarrell Miller in December. Despite facing adversity, Dubois managed to weather the storm and ultimately stopped Miller in the final seconds of the 10th round.

In June, Dubois continued his momentum by defeating the number one ranked fighter, Filip Hrgovic. After overcoming a tough challenge, that victory earned him the IBF championship title. This past weekend, he further validated his championship status with a dominant performance against former two-time world champion Anthony Joshua. Dubois displayed explosive power, knocking Joshua down three times in the first four rounds before finishing the fight in the fifth.

Lennox Lewis praised Dubois’s performance in an interview with BoxNation. “I was very impressed with the way he came out into the fight. He was positive, he was focused, he was aggressive; he knew he wanted to go in there and do damage. He said he was the king, and he’s the king right now, the champion,” Lewis remarked.

When asked about Dubois’s potential matchup against Usyk or Fury, Lewis expressed confidence in Dubois’s abilities. “I think he fares well; he’s pretty positive right now, and the next goal is he wants to be undisputed champion,” he stated.

While Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has suggested the possibility of a rematch, Dubois remains hopeful for a title shot against the winner of the upcoming Fury-Usyk clash, aiming for a chance to unify the heavyweight division. With his recent performances and newfound confidence, Dubois is poised to make significant waves in the boxing world.
