Jake Paul is switching opponents for his upcoming boxing match this summer. Instead of Mike Tyson, the YouTube sensation and professional boxer will face off against former UFC fighter turned bare-knuckle boxer, Mike Perry. The eight-round cruiserweight bout is scheduled for July 20 in Tampa, Fla., and will be broadcast on DAZN pay-per-view, announced by Most Valuable Promotions on Tuesday.
Originally slated to fight Tyson live on Netflix, Paul’s bout was rescheduled to November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Known as “The Problem Child,” Paul enters the ring after scoring consecutive first-round knockouts against Andre August in December and Ryan Bourland in March.
On the other hand, Perry has been undefeated since leaving the UFC in 2021 and currently holds the King of Violence title in BKFC. His most recent victory was a successful title defense against Thiago Alves in April. Perry has also taken down notable opponents in his bare-knuckle boxing career, including Michael Page, Luke Rockhold, and Eddie Alvarez.
