Jake Paul has hinted at a potential MMA rematch with Mike Perry under the Professional Fighters League (PFL) banner, expressing interest in making it happen “when the time is right.” The 27-year-old Paul recently defeated Perry, a former UFC star and Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) standout, with a sixth-round stoppage in their boxing match earlier this month.
Despite Perry’s reputation as the “King of Violence” and his impressive record in BKFC, he was unable to overcome Paul in the boxing ring. Perry, who had only fought professionally in boxing once before, faced Paul in his second boxing bout. His prior success came from his UFC tenure and a perfect 5-0 run in BKFC, with notable victories over Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez.
Perry has not fought in MMA since leaving the UFC in 2021, stating that any return to the sport would need to be worthwhile. Paul, whose ambitions extend beyond boxing, has expressed a desire to make his own MMA debut in the future.
Paul, who signed with the PFL in January 2023, has invited Perry to a fight under MMA rules if his boxing schedule permits. Paul had previously extended a similar offer to Nate Diaz, proposing a $15 million payout, but it did not come to fruition.
In a recent exchange on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Paul mentioned, “Chopped it up with Mike Perry last night. What a stand-up dude. More confidence than most of these fighters. We agreed to run it in PFL when the time is right.” Perry responded positively, saying, “Appreciate ya dude, respect,” signaling his openness to the idea of a future rematch in MMA.
