Jake Paul ‘Doesn’t Understand’ Mike Tyson’s Problem As Boxing Match Approaches But Some Fans Have Questioned The Youtuber’s Fitness After Seeing Him Train

Jake Paul is set to take on Mike Tyson in a boxing match in November, but some fans have questioned the YouTuber’s fitness after seeing him in training

Boxing enthusiasts are questioning Jake Paul’s fitness as the 27 year old gears up to fight Mike Tyson.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer is preparing to face off against former world heavyweight champion Tyson, who at 58 is more than double his age. Originally set for July, the match was postponed due to health concerns for Tyson.

The showdown is now scheduled for November at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Paul enters the ring with a 10-1 record, having most recently defeated Mike Perry over the summer.

In a recent Instagram video, Paul can be seen training for the upcoming bout. However, some fans were not impressed by what they saw of the Ohio native.

“He does not look fit at all,” one fan commented on the footage. Others defended Paul, arguing that his appearance was not surprising given he has moved up in weight to fight Tyson, reports the Mirror.

Despite Tyson being over 30 years older than Paul, many continue to back the former champ. “You might be fooling these young kids who didn’t grow up watching Tyson…. Mike is going to knock you all the way back to the Disney channel chump,” one fan wrote.

“Real talk! He doesn’t understand who he’s facing,” another comment read. “Power doesn’t have an age limit. It stays with muscle memory.”

Tyson is gearing up for his first fight since a 2020 exhibition match with Roy Jones Jr. And it’s been a long stretch since his last pro bout against Kevin McBride in 2005.

An unexpected ulcer flare-up threw a spanner in the works for Tyson’s comeback, leading to a postponement after health experts were called in. The decision was taken back in May, with a strong message that fighter well-being trumps all.

Boxing great ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley has thrown down some words of caution to Paul about the rescheduled scrap. Speaking to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the 53 year old said: “If Mike really hits Jake, Mike can really hurt Jake, and I know what Mike can do and what Jake can do.”

Mosley added: “I don’t think Jake really understands how hard Mike can hit. Mike is 58, but these are two-minute rounds and all fighters have pride. I don’t think Mike will be going in there to lose to Jake Paul. Jake thinks he can take a shot.

“In the first five or six rounds, and what makes this so fun, is that getting hit by Mike Tyson is dangerous, very dangerous. Jake will have to tire Mike out. Jake will need to understand how these punches will come at him.

“People need to understand that a bar fight between two guys is one thing, a professional fighter, especially a former world champion, regardless of age, is still a very dangerous man who can seriously hurt you.

“I don’t know how long they would be able to hurt you [laughs], but these are punches from people who have been throwing punches all their lives.”
