Jake Paul Criticizes Mike Tyson’s Response To Fight Delay Due To Health Issues

MIKE TYSON has left Jake Paul feeling frustrated by his actions following the cancellation of their fight. The boxing legend was set to face YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul on July 20 in Texas, but had to withdraw due to a flare-up of an ulcer during travel from Miami to Los Angeles.

The bout, which has drawn scrutiny due to their 30-year age gap, has now been rescheduled for November 15.

Despite Tyson’s recovery and return to training, Paul is displeased after seeing Tyson in Europe, making appearances and celebrating his birthday. Paul’s business partner Nakisa Bidarian shared on The MMA Hour, “He’s doing great and Jake is upset because he sees Tyson enjoying himself in Europe. He thought Tyson was injured, so he’s questioning what’s going on.”

Tyson, 58, retired from boxing in 2005 but made a comeback for an exhibition match with Roy Jones Jr., 55, in 2020, which ended in a draw after eight rounds.

Meanwhile, Paul, 27, holds a 9-1 record in the ring, with his sole loss coming against Tommy Fury, 25, in 2023. Paul is now slated to fight former UFC star-turned-bare-knuckle boxer Mike Perry, 32, on July 20, but plans to face Tyson remain unchanged for now.

Bidarian defended the matchup between Paul and Tyson, emphasizing, “Anyone can suffer from an ulcer or injury. The age difference between Tyson and Paul adds intrigue. If Tyson were younger, the fight wouldn’t make sense given Paul’s experience. Age equalizes the matchup.”

He continued, “Tyson had a remarkable record at age 27, much like Paul’s current professional trajectory. The unpredictability of the fight makes it compelling. While many expect Tyson to win by knockout, the potential for surprise adds to the excitement.”

Bidarian concluded, “Assuming Tyson maintains good health, as confirmed, the fight on November 15 should definitely proceed.”
