The confrontation occurred during their first meeting on Wednesday afternoon in preparation for their heavyweight world title fight scheduled for September 21. Dubois, who recently claimed the interim IBF belt by defeating Filip Hrgovic, has been promoted to full champion following Oleksandr Usyk’s relinquishment of the title earlier this week.
Tensions flared between the two British rivals while they were seated alongside their respective promoters Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren, just moments before a press conference. “Honestly, from the bottom of my heart, aside from belts and aside from who he is, I’m just ready to fight,” Joshua stated, prompting Dubois to retort, “Let’s go, let’s go.
