Iron Boxer Mike Tyson Was Criticized For Being Far Inferior To Tyson Fury, The Legend Responded Very Harshly

In a recent episode of the YouTube podcast “The Lion’s Den with Mike Tyson and Friends,” lasting four hours and featuring guests like Brendan Schaub, Daniel Cormier, and other surprise appearances, the discussion revolved around various topics, including the peak era of the legendary “Iron” Mike Tyson. This particular subject garnered significant interest from listeners.

The interaction began with a speculative question: “If Mike Tyson in his prime fought Tyson Fury today, who would win?” As the 57-year-old Tyson was about to respond, former MMA fighter Schaub interjected respectfully but firmly: “Mike, before you answer, not to disrespect, but in my opinion, technically, Fury could defend. His footwork is good. Technically, he’s the best we’ve ever seen.”

The fierce Tyson responded sharply: “Listen, the fact that he took the name Tyson Fury shows how great I am. I don’t know. And I don’t care if he can beat me or not. His name is Tyson. He could beat me, but I don’t care because he took the name of the greatest warrior that ever lived.”

In reality, boxing legend Mike Tyson has always acknowledged the talent of “The Gypsy King” Tyson Fury. He has previously praised the British boxer as the greatest heavyweight since his retirement.

Mike Tyson stated on Eurosport, “You can say what you want about Tyson Fury, but I’m very proud. The heavyweight champion of the world took my name. He’s the best heavyweight champion in the world since I retired.”

The podcast episode not only delved into Tyson’s peak years but also explored contemporary boxing narratives, highlighting Tyson Fury’s stature in the sport. Despite the playful banter and competitive comparisons, Tyson’s respect for Fury’s achievements was evident throughout the conversation.

The dynamic exchange on Tyson’s podcast illustrated not just the enduring legacy of Mike Tyson himself but also the admiration and respect he holds for current boxing talents like Tyson Fury. As discussions veered from historical matchups to modern-day skills, the episode provided a nuanced perspective on the evolution of boxing and the enduring impact of legends like Tyson on the sport.
