Inside Daniel Dubois’ Strict Upbringing From Hours Of Press-ups, No Internet To Video That Made Him Want To Be World Champ

Daniel Dubois, the South London heavyweight boxer, recently made headlines by knocking out Anthony Joshua in the fifth round at Wembley Stadium, successfully defending his IBF heavyweight title. This stunning victory is a testament to the grueling training regime instilled in him by his father, Dave Dubois.

From the age of five, Daniel, nicknamed “Dynamite,” was molded for boxing greatness. His training regimen was intense—often lasting three to five hours a day—deprived of food and water until he completed his drills. This rigorous approach left permanent marks on his hands, a testament to his dedication.

Dave Dubois, a market trader, emphasized the importance of mental strength in boxing. “I wanted to strengthen his mind because boxing is a hard sport. Not everyone can do it,” he stated. His strict upbringing included running laps around their estate and home-cooked meals prepared by his father, reinforcing a disciplined lifestyle devoid of nightlife distractions.

Despite his success, Daniel remains grounded, living at home and staying focused on his boxing career. His mobile phone has no internet, a decision made by his father to minimize distractions. This dedication extends to his siblings as well; Daniel’s sister Caroline is an accomplished boxer, while his brothers Prince and Solomon are also pursuing boxing careers.

Dave Dubois has always been a guiding force, sharing his visions of success with Daniel. “I used to have a lot of visions when I was young. I knew I needed to put my children into boxing,” he revealed. His unwavering support and strict approach have clearly paid off, as Daniel rose through the ranks to become the interim IBF heavyweight champion before facing Joshua.

Daniel’s journey has not been without challenges. After controversial losses to Joe Joyce and Oleksandr Usyk, he faced criticism, including being labeled a “coward” by Dillian Whyte. However, he emerged stronger, proving his doubters wrong with his recent victory.

Reflecting on his upbringing, Daniel noted, “I didn’t see much of the street because my dad kept me in the boxing ring.” His commitment to the sport has kept him focused and away from distractions, a choice he does not regret.

Daniel Dubois’ disciplined lifestyle and fierce determination have set him apart in the boxing world. As he continues to rise, fans are eager to see how far this “Triple D” can go in his quest for boxing glory.
