Boxing star Imane Khelif has taken aim at Elon Musk in an emotional interview following the recent gender controversy at the Paris Olympics.
The 25-year-old made headlines after beating Angela Carini in the first round and going on to win gold.
However, her gender has come under scrutiny during the Games in France.
The IBA has been discredited for claiming that she failed two gender tests at last year’s World Boxing Championships.
Khelif, however, has always maintained that she was born a woman and therefore has every right to compete.
She has filed a cyberbullying complaint with Paris prosecutors, naming Musk in the filing.
And Khelif, speaking to French news agency CLIQUE, has criticised the billionaire, accusing him of spreading “hate” towards her.
“Elon Musk was one of the first people to attack me in this hate campaign,” she said.
“He posted this video and it was retweeted.
“So he was one of the first people to spread this rumor, this campaign against me.”
Musk retweeted a post by American swimmer Riley Gaines. The post, directed at Khelif, read: “Men are not suitable for women’s sports.”
The billionaire then added his own message, saying only the word “totally.”
Khelif accused people of “hating” her for no reason. She also exposed the impact of the abuse on herself and her loved ones.
“I want to say… you hate me but you don’t even know me,” she continued.
“I don’t even know why you’re leading this attack. He was cruel to me, cruel to my family, cruel to my mother.
“At that time, my mother had to go to the hospital every day.
