Carl Froch has reignited a dispute with Anthony Joshua by revealing a heated WhatsApp exchange between the two earlier this week. The former training partners, who both trained under Rob McCracken during different stages of their careers, have had their past camaraderie overshadowed by recent tensions.

Joshua, who debuted at Wembley Stadium on the undercard of Froch’s final bout in 2014, is now preparing for his third headline event there. Meanwhile, Froch took to his YouTube channel, Froch On Fighting, to discuss a recent interview in which Joshua responded to a prompt for a “one word answer” about Froch by calling him a “pr**k.”

In retaliation, Froch shared screenshots of their private WhatsApp conversation and a video message from Joshua. Froch speculated on the reasons behind Joshua’s disdain, suggesting, “Maybe it’s because I’m quite critical, but it’s constructive criticism… It’s water off a duck’s back. To be honest, I don’t care who I upset.”

Froch emphasized that there is no personal malice behind their public disagreements. “There’s no personal animosity. I don’t want to get personal with the back-and-forth beef,” he explained, signaling a desire to keep their rivalry professional.
