On Wednesday, August 28, Netflix unveiled an exciting new series titled “Starting 5,” which promises to provide a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the lives of five NBA superstars. The show will follow the journeys of Jimmy Butler, Anthony Edwards, LeBron James, Domantas Sabonis, and Jayson Tatum as they navigate the challenging landscape of professional basketball.

The announcement elaborates, “LeBron James is pushing himself harder than ever to stay healthy and dominant in his 21st season. Meanwhile, Anthony Edwards captivates fans with his meteoric rise. Notably, three of the stars—LeBron James, Anthony Edwards, and Jayson Tatum—recently competed in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The U.S. men’s basketball team clinched the gold medal after a thrilling victory over France, which featured NBA talents such as Victor Wembanyama, Nicolas Batum, Evan Fournier, and Rudy Gobert.

Directed by Susan Ansman, Trishtan Williams, and Peter J. Scalettar, “Starting 5” also boasts an impressive lineup of producers, including Maverick Carter, Jamal Henderson, Barack and Michelle Obama, Vinnie Malhotra, Sam Pepper, and Peyton Manning. Fans can look forward to all 10 episodes of the series dropping on October 9.
