Hailey Bieber, known for her modeling career and as the founder of Rhode, recently opened up about the emotional journey of keeping her pregnancy private for six months. In an interview with W Magazine’s Special Edition Summer Issue, the 27-year-old shared the challenges of concealing her pregnancy and the relief she felt upon finally being able to share the news with the world.
Reflecting on her decision to delay the announcement, Hailey admitted, “I probably could have hid it until the end.” However, the stress of maintaining secrecy took its toll: “I didn’t enjoy the stress of not being able to enjoy my pregnancy outwardly. I felt like I was hiding this big secret, and it didn’t feel good. I wanted the freedom to go out and live my life.”
Hailey explained that she was able to keep her pregnancy under wraps because her baby bump didn’t show until later: “I didn’t have a belly, really, until I was six months pregnant, which was when I announced it. I was able to wear big jackets and stuff.” She and her husband, Justin Bieber, shared their baby news in May through social media, marking the occasion with a heartfelt video from their vow renewal ceremony.
Their journey to parenthood began shortly after their 2018 courthouse wedding in New York City, followed by a larger celebration in South Carolina. Hailey described the early stages of her pregnancy as “super emotional,” reflecting on the dynamics of her current family structure and her feelings about expanding it.
In the interview, Hailey also touched upon her relationship with her family, expressing independence: “I’m not super close with my family at this point in my life. I’m very independent. I’m my own individual now, and I’ve built my own family.” She emphasized cherishing the time with Justin before their family grows: “I’m trying to soak in these days of it being Justin and me, just the two of us.”
Hailey Bieber’s journey into motherhood marks a significant chapter in her life, characterized by personal growth, reflection, and the excitement of impending parenthood. Her candid interview with W Magazine offers a glimpse into the challenges and joys of navigating this transformative experience under the public eye.
