Gervonta Davis Promoted to Face Shakur Stevenson Instead of Vasyl Lomachenko
Gervonta Davis just picked up her latest victory over Frank Martin, successfully defending her WBA lightweight title. Davis is currently in talks to face Lomachenko in his next fight, but former world champion Paulie Malignaggi thinks Davis should face Shakur Stevenson.
Stevenson is at his peak and holds the WBC title, while Lomachenko holds the IBF title. Malignaggi emphasized that the fight between Davis and Stevenson would be more exciting and should happen now.
Davis, with a 30-fight winning streak, is one of boxing’s brightest stars today. Fans hope that after the fight with Lomachenko, Davis will face Stevenson for three belts. Stevenson will defend his title on July 6 against Artem Harutyunyan.
