The underground Hindu temple in Bali, Indonesia, stands out as a unique place of worship unlike any other in the world. Known as Taman Pura (Temple Garden), it was constructed around 2005 or 2006 as part of an environmental conservation initiative. Situated in the Pemuteran Bio Rock area, the project involved placing statues and idols at a depth of approximately 15 meters.
According to the Jakarta Globe, “The project, which includes ten statues and a temple structure, was implemented alongside several bio-wreck dive sites and a reef conservation project known as Reef Gardiners, funded by the Australian Agency for International Development.”
