Floyd Mayweather Paid Mind-blowing Fee To Become The World’s Only Owner Of Super-rare ‘Billionaire Watch’

The flamboyant boxing star is living up to his ‘Money’ nickname with his latest expensive purchase

For the past two decades Floyd Mayweather has been renowned as one of most extravagant spenders in the sporting world. And there is one purchase the retired boxer has made that might be his most lavish.

Remaining undefeated over a 21-year professional boxing career, Mayweather became of the biggest stars in the history of his sport.

With 15 world championships across five different weight classes, the Michigan native awed audiences with his supreme defensive skills and expert counter-punching.

His final pro bout came in 2017, when he defeated UFC star Conor McGregor via a 10th-round TKO.

The 47-year-old has since continued to compete in exhibition fights, the most notable of which was a 2021 showdown with YouTuber Logan Paul.

The perfect-record pugilist has also starred in the professional wrestling world, having faced off with the Big Show in the WWE ring at WrestleMania XXIV.

Nicknamed ‘Money’, Mayweather reportedly racked up a staggering $1.2 billion in career earnings, making him one of the richest sports stars ever.

And the 5ft 8in boxer has never been shy of flaunting his wealth, with pictures of expensive cars, mansions and jewellery littering his social media channels.

There is one big-money purchase in particular, though, that is lavish even by Mayweather’s standards.

In 2018, the former boxer claimed he spent an eye-watering $18 million on a watch.

The ‘Billionair Watch’, first released in 2015, is a custom-made piece from luxury jewellers Jacob & Co.

Comprised of 260 carats’ worth of emerald-cut diamonds, with each individual gem weighing three carats, the flashy timepiece is one of the most expensive watches every purchased. It is also one of a kind, the only model of its design to be made.

Mayweather bought the watch from jeweller Tadashi Fukushima, adding it to a collection of timepieces said to be worth $100 million.
