Danica Patrick has long been a controversial figure in the F1 paddock because of her actions and activities unrelated to the sport. Therefore, rumors that she was fired from her role as a presenter on Sky Sports for participating in conspiracy theories surrounding Lizard People are not shocking. But, officially, she hasn’t lost her job yet.
Sky Sports has not released any statement regarding Patrick’s dismissal to date. However, an article is being circulated in the F1 community on social networks, talking about Patrick losing his role. She is said to be on a podcast where she actively theorizes about the existence of lizard people in our society.
However, that article turned out to be untrue. A week before the Austrian GP, Patrick herself took to social networks to announce that she would take a break from her job as a presenter on Sky Sports F1. According to her Instagram post, she will return to Austin and join the judging panel for the final four races of the campaign.
Meanwhile, the F1 community celebrated the rumors of Patrick’s dismissal with enthusiasm. The IndyCar race winner is not the most popular figure in the paddock, which was evident in the reaction when rumors of her firing first surfaced.
Reaction to Patrick being fired by Sky Sports ‘Lizard People’
2009 world champion Jenson Button is also not a fan of Patrick. They have had arguments in the past, which is why some of the jokes regarding this Lizardman controversy focus on Button.
In the past, Patrick has been critical of some drivers during the race and has also made some controversial views about F1 being a “masculine” sport.
Fans on X took note of that when sharing their reactions.
