Carl Froch gets revenge by revealing all feud with Anthony Joshua is settled but heavyweight boxer has one final criticism over brutal voice message

Carl Froch is now back on good terms with Anthony Joshua, but not without one final comical dig.

Froch and Joshua had been involved in a heated feud, sparked by the Nottingham native’s criticism of the heavyweight’s resume. The two had been arguing for several days. Things escalated behind closed doors with the pair trading insults in private messages, which Froch then leaked on his YouTube channel.

In a new video, however, ‘The Cobra’ surprisingly began his Q&A with a question from Joshua, who took a real dig at the former world champion.

AJ said: “So you didn’t beat a champion. What do you feel about that? Do you feel that you were regarded a champion because you fought for a vacant one?

“You didn’t beat a champion to become champion, if you get what I mean. Do you feel like that win, not irrelevant, but it’s not highly regarded the same as if you had gone and beat a world champion? How do you feel about that fight with Jean Pascal?”

Despite the dig, Froch willingly answered the question, insisting it was all on rival Joe Calzaghe as to why he had to wait.

The retired star then confirmed the pair had settled their differences and still have huge ‘respect’ for one another.

He added: “I think they all know. Anthony Joshua was the first question. He sent me a voicemail. I think he’s alright. Joshua mocked Froch’s title clash with Pascal in 2008.

“I think we’re seeing eye-to-eye. We’ve had a good exchange of messages.

“For all you fanboys out there that are upset that we’ve played the voicenote ‘oh you shouldn’t be releasing private messages’. Trust me, me and Anthony Joshua are okay. He’s got respect for me, I’ve got a lot of respect for him and I wish him all the best.”

Joshua previously held a good relationship with Froch, as the pair fought under the same Matchroom Boxing stable.

But things soured, particularly after Froch was critical of the former champion’s famous loss to Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019. AJ will now have no more time for outside-the-ring feuds, as he is in training camp to prepare to face Daniel Dubois on September 21.

It will be for Dubois’ newly received IBF title and will give him the opportunity to become a three-time world champion.
