Mike Perry is one of five boxers facing medical suspensions following their matches on Saturday in Tampa, Florida. According to a list released by the Florida Athletic Commission (FAC) and obtained by MMA Junkie, Perry has been handed a 60-day suspension after his TKO loss to Jake Paul in the sixth round of their scheduled eight-round cruiserweight bout.
During the fight, Perry endured a series of heavy punches and was knocked down by Paul midway through Round 6. The referee initiated an eight-count before Perry managed to get up. However, when instructed to walk to the right, Perry stumbled, leading to the fight being stopped.
The FAC’s suspension list includes the duration of each suspension but does not detail the specific injuries. Fighters can often return to competition before their suspension period ends, provided they receive clearance from a physician.
