Brazilian Football Legend Zico Robbed in Paris, Losing €500,000 in Cash, Luxury Watches, and Diamond Necklace.
Brazilian football legend Zico has fallen victim to a robbery in Paris, losing a substantial amount of cash, a luxury watch, and a diamond necklace worth approximately €500,000 (around $13.7 billion VND).
The incident occurred on Wednesday evening (July 24, European time) when Zico was leaving his hotel in a taxi. The hotel is located in the 19th arrondissement of the French capital, Paris.
According to the French newspaper Le Parisien, the robbery was executed by two individuals. One of them distracted the taxi driver while the other seized Zico’s bag from the trunk. The bag contained a significant amount of cash, a Rolex watch, and a diamond necklace, totaling about €500,000.
French authorities were promptly informed of the incident and have launched an investigation. The French Anti-Robbery Brigade has been tasked with handling the case.
Zico is in Paris as a member of the Brazilian delegation participating in the Paris 2024 Olympics. This year, Brazil does not have a men’s football team in the Olympics, but the women’s team is competing.
Zico, often referred to as the “White Pelé,” is regarded as one of Brazil’s greatest football talents, bridging the era between the legendary Pelé and Ronaldo Nazário (“Ronaldo the Phenomenon”).
The robbery of Zico has cast a shadow over his visit to Paris for the Olympics. As investigations continue, the football world watches closely, hoping for a swift resolution and justice for the iconic Brazilian star.
