Footage has captured a heated moment between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois during a tense interview this week, with Joshua threatening to “put a chair” across Dubois’ face. The British heavyweights are set to clash on September 21 at Wembley Stadium in London, with Dubois’s IBF title on the line. This follows Dubois’s promotion from interim champion after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the official belt.
While Joshua, 34, and Dubois, 26, appeared relatively cordial at a press conference on Wednesday, the released footage from earlier in the day reveals a more charged interaction. During an interview with their respective promoters, Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren, Joshua expressed his readiness for the fight, saying, “Honestly, from the bottom of my heart… Aside from belts, and aside from it being him, I’m just ready to fight.”
Dubois responded with, “Let’s go, let’s go,” prompting Warren to urge patience until the fight date. When Dubois challenged Joshua to a confrontation before the fight, Joshua retorted, “Shut up, relax, relax.” Dubois persisted, insisting, “If you wanna go now, let’s go now,” to which Joshua shot back, “I’ll throw this f***ing chair across your face. Don’t disrespect me.”
