While some experts have criticized the ongoing renovation work at the Menkaure pyramid in Giza, Egypt, Mostafa Waziri, the head of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities, has described it as the “project of the century.” In a video shared on social media, Waziri showcased workers placing granite blocks at the pyramid’s base, situated near the Sphinx and the larger pyramids of Khafre and Cheops.
Originally, the Menkaure pyramid was constructed with a granite covering, but over time, many of these blocks have vanished. The current restoration efforts aim to return the pyramid to its original appearance by reconstructing the granite layer, thus restoring its ancient architectural style.
