Joe Joyce Knows Who Hits Harder Between Joshua And Dubois After Sharing The Ring With Both

Joe Joyce, who has shared the ring with both Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois, offers a unique perspective on the upcoming IBF world title fight between the two British heavyweights. Set to take place at Wembley Stadium on September 21, this bout promises to be a thrilling encounter between two fighters with considerable punching power and resilience.

Both Joshua and Dubois have faced significant challenges in their careers. Joshua suffered a shocking defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr., followed by back-to-back losses to the current number one, Oleksandr Usyk. Meanwhile, Dubois experienced a setback against Joyce, which was exacerbated by an eye injury, and later lost to Usyk last summer. Since then, Dubois has demonstrated his resolve by stopping Fillip Hrgovic and Jarrell Miller, addressing any doubts about his heart in the ring.

Joyce, who has sparred with Joshua and defeated Dubois, was asked by Seconds Out to compare the power of the two fighters. He noted, “Raw power, Dubois. But Joshua has that power too. It’s maybe a bit quicker. I remember him putting the hands together a bit more. Dubois is improving as well, so we’re going to have to see on the night.”

Joyce highlighted Dubois’ powerful jab, describing it as “powerful like a backhand,” and reflected on the bruises he felt from Dubois’ hard shots during their fight. He also compared their speed, endurance, and heart, suggesting that while Dubois might have an edge in speed due to his youth, Joshua’s experience could be a significant factor. Joyce noted, “I think they’re quite equal in their attributes. I’d edge with ‘AJ’ with his experience. But I would say Dubois hits him with the raw power.”

When pressed for a prediction, Joyce kept his cards close to his chest. “There’s a lot of variables. I’m just excited to see what happens. As soon as the fight starts, you can kind of tell. It’s whoever gets hit first really … They’ve both got good coaches for them for this fight, so it’s a real head-to-head. May the best man win.”

As Joyce looks to rebuild his career following a loss to Derek Chisora and defeats to Zhilei Zhang last year, he expressed that the all-British heavyweight clash would inspire his own comeback. With both Joshua and Dubois bringing impressive credentials and determination to the ring, the fight is set to be a compelling spectacle for boxing fans.
