Lil Wayne’s Engineer Explodes in Outrage Over Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show Headliner

Lil Wayne’s Engineer Fabian Marasciullo Lashes Out After Kendrick Lamar Named 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Headliner: ‘Confused, Disappointed, Angry’

Fabian Marasciullo, Lil Wayne’s longtime engineer, is joining the outcry of fans who believe the rap icon should headline the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show in his hometown of New Orleans. After the NFL announced Kendrick Lamar as the headliner for the February 9, 2025, performance at Caesars Superdome, many were left questioning why New Orleans native Wayne didn’t get the nod.

Taking to his Instagram Story, Marasciullo, who famously mixed Wayne’s hit “Go D.J.” from Tha Carter, expressed his frustration. “Confused. Disappointed. Angry. But most of all, inspired,” he wrote. He added, “We will never again be in a position where we’re at the mercy of someone else’s decision. We will make the decisions.”

Fans had long hoped to see Wayne, 41, take the Super Bowl stage, especially in his home city. Wayne himself had expressed his desire for the opportunity, telling Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks last December that he wanted the Halftime Show “badly,” viewing it as a pinnacle moment comparable to winning a Grammy. “It’s a showcase. It’s something tourists take back with them… I believe I’m a part of the New Orleans showcase,” Wayne explained.

In February, he mentioned on YG and Stevie’s 4HUNNID podcast that he hadn’t yet received the call but was hopeful, “We keeping our fingers crossed. I’m working hard… I wanna make it hard for them not to holler at the boy.”

With support from fans and notable figures like Deion Sanders, who tweeted the NFL saying, “I fully expect @LilTunechi to be a part of the @nflsuperbowl 2025 in New Orleans,” it’s clear that many feel Wayne should have been in the spotlight. Now, with Marasciullo’s fiery response, the debate over who should headline the iconic halftime show has only intensified
