Jake Paul defeated former UFC fighter turned bare-knuckle boxer Mike Perry by TKO in their bout, with Perry revealing that Paul’s very first punch inflicted significant damage. Perry, who was knocked out in the sixth round, disclosed on Paul’s podcast that the initial punch cracked his rib and altered the course of the fight.
Perry recounted, “In the first 10 seconds, that first punch you hit me with, you popped me.” He explained that he had his hands up but his rib was exposed, leading to the injury and forcing him to lower his guard.
Despite the setback, Perry praised Paul’s performance and expressed pride in his own resilience. He acknowledged, “I fought through it… I think it was fair and square,” noting that he had a few moments of success, including causing Paul to bleed in the third round.
Looking ahead, Jake Paul is preparing for his upcoming fight against Mike Tyson, which was rescheduled to November 15 after Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up.
