Mike Perry has shared his reaction to a painful injury he sustained early in his fight against Jake Paul. According to Perry, Paul broke one of his ribs with his first punch, just 10 seconds into their bout on July 20.
Recalling the moment on Jake Paul’s YouTube channel, Perry said, “First 10 seconds, that first punch you hit me with, you popped me.” He explained that he was trying to guard himself but still got hit in the rib, leading to immediate pain. Perry admitted, “I put my hands down, and you popped it right away. And I fought through it; that’s something, and there are pieces I can be proud of. But, I think it was fair and square.”
Reacting to Perry’s account, a surprised Jake Paul simply said, “Jesus.” Despite the injury, Paul went on to secure a sixth-round TKO victory, improving his professional record to 10-1. The win has sparked speculation about Paul’s future, including a potential world title shot, as he prepares for a highly anticipated fight with Mike Tyson in November.
