Free practice session 3 was halted with 48 minutes to go after Lance Stroll crashed at Raidillon.
The Aston Martin driver hydroplaned as he passed through Eau Rouge, causing him to spin at Raidillon.
Fortunately, he avoided a major crash but still crashed into the barrier, causing significant damage to the front left of his car.
Stroll’s incident was similar to Lando Norris’ in 2021, except he avoided a major crash. A red flag was immediately raised and an ambulance was brought onto the track.
Light rain began falling before FP3, although it became significantly heavier after a few minutes. Heavy rain is forecast throughout the day.
Aston Martin confirmed that Stroll had gone to the medical centre for a precautionary check-up.
“Lance crashed in the rain in FP3,” Aston Martin said in a statement. “He got out of the car on his own and was taken by ambulance to the medical center for a routine precautionary check-up.”
