Jake Paul secured another victory in his boxing career by defeating Mike Perry in a match held at Amalie Arena in Florida, USA, on the evening of July 21.
YouTuber Jake Paul managed to knock down former UFC mixed martial artist Mike Perry three times before ending the fight in the sixth round.
Mike Perry was selected to replace Tyson as Paul’s opponent on July 21. Initially, Tyson was scheduled to face Paul at the 80,000-seat home of the Dallas Cowboys, with the event set to be streamed live on Netflix. However, the heavyweight boxing legend withdrew from the event due to health issues, postponing the match to November 15. The 58-year-old boxer reportedly suffered from a stomach ulcer while on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on May 26.
Despite this change, Jake Paul still issued a challenge to boxing legend Mike Tyson after defeating Mike Perry in the July 20 fight: “Mike Tyson, you’re the next failure. Sign the contract, I’m excited and will be preparing for that fight. The fight will take place on November 15.”
Jake Paul dominated the fight against Mike Perry. With his physical advantage, the American YouTuber easily knocked Perry down in the first and second rounds. Perry was unable to resist further and endured a series of intense attacks in the sixth round.
The 32-year-old Bare Knuckle Fighting champion staggered to his feet afterward, but the referee decided to end the fight, giving Jake Paul another high-profile knockout victory in his career.
Following the match, Paul quickly praised his opponent for giving his all: “He’s tough as nails, I apologize for taking so much time. I threw some life-threatening punches, and he took a lot of damage. I really admire Perry’s fighting spirit.”
