Anthony Joshua’s team has strongly criticized Daniel Dubois for allegedly not enrolling in voluntary drug testing ahead of their upcoming bout. AJ is set to challenge his former sparring partner for the IBF heavyweight title in September at Wembley Stadium. However, Joshua’s team, represented by 258 Management, publicly questioned Dubois’ participation in Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) testing, tweeting their concerns to Queensberry Promotions.
In response, Queensberry Promotions assured that Dubois is indeed enrolled in VADA testing, a measure often taken by fighters to add an extra layer of scrutiny and assurance regarding drug use. VADA testing involves random tests throughout training camps and is typically funded by the fighters themselves due to financial constraints faced by athletic commissions and sanctioning bodies.
Both Joshua, aged 34, and Dubois, aged 26, will also undergo random drug testing conducted by the UK Anti-Doping agency (UKAD). It’s important to note that neither fighter has ever been implicated in any doping violations throughout their professional careers.
