Karun Chandhok has cleared up the confusion after he suggested that Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo ‘could be team-mates’. The former F1 star was suggesting that the pair could unite at Goodwood Revival, rather than at Red Bull next season.
Ricciardo has been heavily linked with a return to Red Bull should the reigning champions opt to dismiss the under-fire Sergio Perez. However, the popular Aussie is also facing his own problems with Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar both making a case for deserving a seat at VCARB moving forward.
This situation became the source of an awkward moment at the Goodwood Festival of Speed over the weekend, where Red Bull celebrated 20 years in F1 with the launch of their RB17 Hypercar and appearances from a string of current and former drivers, including Ricciardo, Perez and Verstappen.
