“HE WORTHY” – UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin angrily DEMANDED fans an apology for Southgate

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin has strongly objected to criticism of coach Gareth Southgate as “shameful” and demanded an apology from members of the British media. Despite many objections, the British strategist still brought the Three Lions to the EURO 2024 final.

Famous BBC commentator Gary Lineker once described England’s performance in the draw with Slovenia in the group stage as “disastrous” and questioned Southgate’s tactical ability. Despite an unfavorable start, England showed impressive form in the semi-finals against the Netherlands.

Opinions about Southgate’s tactics and ability to adjust to the game have divided fans and experts. However, UEFA head Ceferin affirmed that the criticism aimed at the 53-year-old coach was “shameful”.

“He was ridiculed and insulted. I hope some people in the media will apologize, although I don’t think it will happen,” Ceferin emphasized.

Southgate could not hide his emotions after the victory against the Netherlands. He led the Three Lions to two consecutive EURO finals and reached the final of a major tournament on foreign soil for the first time.

“We all want to be loved, don’t we?”, Southgate said about criticism. “When you do something for your country and you’re a proud Englishman, when you don’t feel the support and only read criticism, it’s difficult. So to celebrate the final The second ending is something very special.”

Southgate also praised the English fans: “If I wasn’t on the field, I would watch and celebrate like them. We have a lot in common, but of course, I’m the one who has to choose the squad. So, Being able to give them a night like tonight is very special.”

Meanwhile, the FA wants to keep Southgate there no matter what the result of the EURO 2024 final. Facing strong Spain in Berlin, reaching the final was considered a success for England.
