Both the England and Spain national teams stand to gain significant financial rewards should they emerge victorious in the EURO 2024 final. The players from both teams are not just eyeing the championship trophy but also substantial financial rewards. If Spain wins, each member of the Spanish national team, including Coach Luis De La Fuente, will receive €364,516. This decision came after a discussion between the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) representatives and senior team members, Rodri and Alvaro Morata. This bonus represents 40% of the total prize money that UEFA will award to Spain, amounting to approximately €11.3 million out of the €28.5 million total.
This bonus will be the highest ever in the history of the Spanish national team, surpassing the rewards given to the champions of the 2008-2012 period. Other coaching staff and accompanying personnel will receive separate bonuses, ensuring that the entire team benefits from the victory.
On the other hand, the English Football Association (FA) has promised an even larger bonus for their national team. According to reports from The Sun, if England wins the EURO 2024, the players will receive a total of £9.6 million (€11.4 million), with each player pocketing £369,000 (€439,420).
Notably, England’s head coach, Gareth Southgate, stands to gain significantly more. According to his contract with the FA, Southgate will receive a staggering £4 million (€4.76 million) bonus, which is more than 10 times the amount that his Spanish counterpart, Luis De La Fuente, will receive.
The financial rewards highlight the immense stakes and the high level of investment both associations are willing to make to secure a EURO 2024 victory.
