Jake Paul Teases Mike Perry, Causing Surprise Reveal Before July 20 Match.
Jake Paul knows how to increase anticipation before his match. The boxer and YouTube star provoked Mike Perry, leading to a surprise reveal ahead of what promises to be a dramatic fight on July 20.
Jake Paul is not only a professional boxer but also a famous prankster. Before his big match with Mike Perry, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) superstar, Paul pulled a classic prank. He posed as a boxing journalist in a phone call to Perry, leaving the boxer unaware.
During the call, the two fighters exchanged harsh words. Perry, not realizing he was being pranked, confidently predicted the round in which he would knock out Paul. Then Paul asked a provocative question that sent Perry into a rage.
There is no doubt that Jake Paul took full advantage of his prankster nature to heat up the match. He began his mental war with Perry by calling him pretending to be a boxing journalist to request an interview before the fight.
Paul was originally scheduled to fight Mike Tyson in the highly anticipated Netflix event. However, that fight was postponed to November 15 due to Tyson suffering from a severe stomach ulcer. As a result, Mike Perry has stepped up to face Jake in what promises to be one of Paul’s toughest challenges to date.
Just days before his eight-round cruiserweight bout, Paul called Perry, pretending to be a boxing journalist, to request an interview. This teasing call not only made Perry angry, but also helped Paul get the truth out of his opponent before the match.
“Hey, Mike. I’m Dan Rafael of ESPN,” Paul said in the video. “Malki [Perry’s manager] gave me your phone number to do a big article for ESPN. I only have two questions for you. First, do you have a prediction about which round or when you will play? stop Jake Paul?”
Not knowing he was being pranked, Perry confidently predicted that he would defeat Paul in the seventh round. “I’d say round seven, but I could knock him out sooner. He thinks it’ll be a short fight, but I’m planning on a long and exciting night….”
Jake Paul has a 5-0 record against world champions like Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley (twice), as well as Ben Askren. His most recent victory was against Nate Diaz last August, bringing his record to 9-1 with consecutive wins against professional boxers.
Conversely, Mike Perry has a 0-1 record in traditional boxing, but has a perfect 5-0 record in bare-knuckle boxing (BKFC). Perry has had significant success in BKFC, with wins over former UFC champion Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez, both of whom he submitted in two rounds. As the match day approaches, fans are eagerly anticipating the tense and unpredictable match between Jake Paul and Mike Perry. This match promises to bring dramatic and exciting moments, when both boxers are determined to win.
