Lewis Hamilton has issued a warning to his F1 rivals following his return to the podium at the British Formula 1 Grand Prix. Hamilton claimed his first win since the end of the 2021 campaign last weekend to secure the 104th victory of his career. Mercedes has gradually improved its form this year after starting the campaign at a leading pace.
The Brackley-based side are largely challenged by having to comply with current technical regulations introduced in 2022.

With more upgrades about to be implemented in the next two races in Belgium and Hungary, Hamilton hopes he will maintain his lead and win more. “There’s still a very long way to go, but this car is not the fastest car on the track today,” Hamilton told the media. “I think we’re very close, and I hope with the next few upgrades we’ll be in an even stronger position to really, really fight on the front lines more consistently. ”

Hamilton hopes for ‘high’ tenure at Mercedes
The current campaign is Hamilton’s last with Mercedes before moving to Ferrari next year. With victory in hand, the seven-time world champion is continuing to aim for a strong end to his tenure at Mercedes.

“I think when we started the season and we had a car that we couldn’t get close to Red Bull, like, it didn’t look like we were going to win all year long, ” he say. “For me, it’s like a bittersweet feeling at the end of the season, when you’ve never felt like you have today. “And the fact that we came together, everyone did a great job to get the car to a place where we felt much more comfortable and really changed from last year’s platform. “So not leaving on a low but on a high, that’s our goal.”
