Charles Leclerc insisted he was not “completely satisfied” with his Ferrari after practice for the British Formula 1 Grand Prix, but team-mate Carlos Sainz gave a more optimistic verdict. Ferrari did not bring any upgrades to Silverstone and instead focused on back-to-back testing during practice, with Leclerc eighth and Sainz ninth in the opening session.

In the afternoon, Leclerc took fifth place and Sainz took eighth in difficult conditions with constant wind and rain throughout the day. Although pleased to have completed the amount of work, Leclerc was still not entirely satisfied with the state of the car going into the weekend.

“We have done a lot of testing and will analyze all the data collected to make some comparisons and take the next steps as a team,” he said. “Currently, we are not completely satisfied and will make every effort to resolve all issues quickly to have a good qualifying round. “I don’t feel like this is the case [that we’re in]. “I feel McLaren and Red Bull are very far ahead this weekend, but I hope I’m wrong.”

Sainz has a different opinion
However, his soon-to-be former team-mate Sainz is more optimistic about the position of the Scuderia, where he won his first grand prix in 2022. “It was an exciting Friday for us because the main goal was to collect useful data to get a complete picture of our vehicle,” he said. “The target has been achieved and now we need to analyze everything to be ready for [qualification]. “We need to make some decisions, but I think we can find the right spot this weekend.”
