Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois Prepare for Heavyweight Showdown but Both Warned They Don’t Hit as Hard as David Price

British heavyweight boxer Frazer Clarke claims that Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois don’t hit as hard as retired fighter David Price.

Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois are gearing up for a blockbuster heavyweight showdown, but both have been warned that they don’t pack as much punch as David Price. British heavyweight boxer Frazer Clarke asserted that neither Joshua nor Dubois can match the punching power of the retired David Price.

The comments from the Olympic bronze medalist come ahead of the highly anticipated bout between Joshua and Dubois for the IBF heavyweight title on September 21, following the stripping of the undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk’s title last week.

Although both fighters bring considerable power to the ring, Clarke (8-0-1) insists that no one can rival the punching power of Price, who secured 20 of his 25 professional boxing wins by knockout. While acknowledging that both Joshua and Dubois have powerful punches, Clarke was most impressed by Price’s strength.

Speaking to Boxing Social, Clarke said, “It’s a different kind of punch, but I think in a single blow, Joshua might [hit harder than Dubois]. Joshua is a bit quicker than Dubois, so his punches are sharper, while Dubois is really strong. But I have to say, neither of them compares to David Price—damn, Jesus Christ,” Clarke added. “That was another level. I was young then, maybe 17 or 18, but it was an experience. I think he was even relaxing! Just one punch from David Price had unbelievable power. Incredible.”

Price, standing at 6ft 8in, largely fell short of the high expectations set for him following an impressive amateur career. The 40-year-old retired without ever competing for a world title, securing 25 wins in 32 professional fights, with his last bout ending in defeat to Derek Chisora.
