Max Verstappen claims that he will look to negotiate with Lando Norris following their contact at the Austrian Grand Prix. The pair collided on lap 64 of the race while battling for the lead, resulting in late-stage damage to Norris. Verstappen was able to continue but was hit with a 10th penalty and two penalty points on his super licence, finishing in fifth place. After being blamed by the stewards for the collision, Verstappen questioned Norris’s driving in the lead-up to the altercation.

“I feel like sometimes these dives, you brake so slowly that one moment you go straight, one moment I have to go around the curb or whatever you call it, otherwise we’ll touch each other.” ,” he shared with Sky F1 . “So I think sometimes the shape of the corner also causes problems like this. “I mean, I’ve had the opposite happen too, it’s like that. Of course, it’s never nice to get together.” Norris’ late race was aided by Verstappen’s slow pit stop, allowing the McLaren driver to close behind the Dutchman.

Verstappen denied he moved while braking despite being found guilty by the jury. “Of course it was difficult to see from the outside when I braked,” Verstappen said. “I know of course, that has always been a complaint in the past. But now I always move the wheel before braking. And then of course you brake in a straight trajectory or whatever. “It’s always easy to tell from the outside that I’m switching to the brakes, but I think the person in the car knows best what he’s doing.”
