Red Bull Consultant Helmut Marko Reveals The Staggering Cost Of Fixing Sergio Perez’s Car After The Monaco Has Been Revealed.

The astonishing cost of Sergio Perez’s horrific accident at the Monaco Grand Prix has been revealed.

Perez started 16th for the race after a poor qualifying session, but was then caught up in a scary 160mph three-car pileup on lap one of his race .

On the way up Beau Rivage for turn two, Haas driver Kevin Magnussen latched onto Perez’s right rear wheel as he was pressed into the wall with no room to escape.

This sent Perez, 34, careening into the wall and collecting Magnussen, before he collided with a barrier with the momentum of the collision causing his car to spin before he hit Nico Hulkenberg .

The incident caused debris to be scattered all over the track and outside, with flying debris hitting a photographer and sending them to the hospital.

Stewards treated the collision as a racing incident and did not impose penalties on anyone.

“But first of all, it’s very dangerous. And secondly, the loss of RB20 is two or three million. This is a big disadvantage for us with the budget limit.”

Perez agreed with Marko’s criticism when asked about the accident.

“This driving is more dangerous, just keep it straight knowing there will be a collision at some point,” he said.

“I think it was dangerous driving.

“We need to ask why it wasn’t investigated because if we don’t investigate we won’t understand why it wasn’t a penalty. I’m really surprised.”

Magnussen was given a two-point penalty when he received a racing ban, although he claimed Perez should have given him more space before the collision.
